If you have the heat on you can have more sinus problems and bloody noses due to the dry air. Here is my tool kit for winter (and sometimes summer) sinus relief.

1. Drink plenty of water each day; avoid caffeinated drinks that will dehydrate you.
2. Use some type of humidifier at home. Make sure you at least have a small one for the room you sleep in.
3. A saline gel that you use in your nostrils to relieve dryness fast, the two I know of are simply saline gel or ayr. http://www.drugstore.com/qxp11581_333181...
4. Breathe right nose strips are a godsend, they really work great.

5. A neti pot, I have been using a one for 15 yrs or so, I use it daily, year round. At first look they are kind of freaky but they are perfectly safe and you only use saline, which is used by doctors to hydrate the body. I use mine a couple of times a day when I have the heat on. It really does wonders for dry sinuses. The saline washes out mucous and allergens and is very soothing for inflamed tissues. Make sure you follow the directions on mixing the saline. You want to use a non-iodized salt, such as sea salt, kosher salt, or a pharmaceutical grade salt.

If you really don
