S.T.D. is generally how sexually transmitted diseases are referred to, and covers a wide range from Syphilis, to Chlamydia, Non Specific Urethritis to Gonorrhoea and out to AIDS.
Most are passed through the transfer of bodily fluids, whether by oral or normal sexual intercourse.
This is the reason that the use of a condom when having any type of sexual contact t with a new partner is strongly advised. As some of these diseases can also be past orally, having been picked up through oral sex, ( i.e. a ******** or going down on your partner) it is always wise to check first.)
Treatment via antibiotics is available through your doctor or at a G.U.M. (Genito-Urinary Medicine clinic.)
if somebody is found to have any of the above mentioned deceases, plus some that are not mentioned, then they will more than likely be asked for the names of their most recent partner(s), and anyone else that they have had any type of sexual contact with.
This is not done top embarrass the patient, but to enable any partner(s) to be checked out to prevent, as much as possible, the spread of the decease.
