I'm always tired, could it be anemia?!

Question: I'm always tired, could it be anemia.?
I'm always tired, my feet are always freezing and last October I got dizzy three times. I just turned eighteen, my mom was anemic (she took the pills and is ok now) so I think I might be too... I haven't been dizzy since October but now I'm always tired. I went to bed last night at around probably eleven and I woke up at about 8, that should be more than enough sleep considering I was able to sleep in today too. Is it anemia or something else.? Oh and my back has been hurting a lot....I'm only 18.......I don't know if that would have anything to do with this but I'm just putting it out there. My back has hurt before, but not this much..all I have to do is sit/kneel on the floor and it hurts. My posture is fine too... what the heckkkkkHealth Question & Answer

Anemia is just one of the problems that can give you the symptoms. Diabetes is another. There are so many more that can give you similar problems, too. What you really need to do is to visit your doctor and get your blood checked.Health Question & Answer

...That could be a lot of things such as, yes,..animia,low thyroid, low blood pressure, lack of certain vitamins.... Does anyone in your family have MS.?...you should check that last, but get everything else checked first. good luck.

Sounds like diabetes to me. Check your blood sugar.Health Question & Answer

It is interesting that this question is posted under diabetes, but you have not mentioned that you have diabetes; because not taking good care of blood sugars can make you lethargic, and certainly, anemia can too.

1st, always consult your doctor with symptoms such as these, you may think it is one thing and it could be something entirely different. ex: I'd eat a good snack w/water before working out at the gym, however, when I'd come home an hour later, I felt like someone had unplugged me and I had become so weary each time I'd do this work out; the coach told me it was low blood sugar, but blood work revealed it was severe anemia.

Anemia is when you have a lack of iron in your body, iron is what carries oxygen through your body, and when you are low in iron, you can experience fatigue, shortness of breath, pale palor, among other symptoms. it takes time to build up the iron supply, so you can make healthy life changes by eating strawberries, raisins, spinach, green leafy veggies, red meats, poultry, fish, walnuts, and it likes vitamin c; so if you take an iron supplement, take it with orange juice for instance.

I would recommend a visit to your doctor; do not ignore back pain and fatigue; it is possible that you may have anemia - or - you could have hypothyroidism which can also make you feel tired, forgetful, and cold. - similar symptoms, two different diagnosis.Health Question & Answer
