Question: My friend just past away in his sleep due to a heart attack at 26 is this possible.?
I can't imagine that a 26 year old male could die in his sleep due to a heart attack. He smoked and drank but did not due drugs. He was not overweight by any means. I just dont get it.Health Question & Answer

There have been teenagers who've had the same thing happen. Often is is due to an undetected, inherited heart defect. Sometimes it's due to a combination of factors such as a medication interaction. It may seem unusual for one so young to have a heart attack, but it has happened. Your friend may have had some unknown heart defects or other health issues that caused the heart attack. He may have had a heart condition that was never treated. Did he mix red bull/vodka a lot or anything.? It could have been a reaction to a combo like that. Some people never know they have heart problems or the "silent Killer" High blood pressure. They say High BP is also caused by drinking. Maybe that was a possibility.People of all ages can have high BP and not even know it. That can cause stroke or heart attact. My BP goes down when I drink but the next day shoots sky high. maybe he was unlucky born unhealthy but smoking and drinking didn't help either this could of speed ed up the process of the heart attack
