PPD testing question?!
Question: PPD testing question.?
I dont know that much about this but its freaking me out cuz im terrefied of being sick. I got a PPD test about 5 hr ago and now there is a a little red around it. Its a little less then 1cm across. theres a picture at the bottom. Does this mean my test is positive.?

No. This does not mean that your test is positive. A little redness and a "bump" is usually normal for the first day. The PPD test needs a full 48 hours to stimulate an immune reaction, so try not to think about it until at least 48 hours has passed. What your employer (I'm assuming you did this for a job) should be looking for is an indurated, or "hard" lump where the PPD solution was injected. Redness, pain, itching aren't signs of a "positive PPD". Good luck!Health Question & Answer
