I ate a peanut......?!

Question: I ate a peanut.......?
I ate a peanut butter sandwich for the first time in my whole life, but before that i put my finger inside the jar and tasted it first. As soon as i tasted it i felt my head kinda heavy, does that mean im allergic to peanuts.? I rarely eat peanuts but i never faced this problem when eating them.Health Question & Answer

Traditional allergic reaction with my wife first involves her throat closing up and getting very itchy and usually getting hives. You may be having a slight reaction, however, if you had a really bad allergy, you probably wouldn't be reading this: you'd be on you way to the hospital. If you continue feeling strange, I would call the doctor. My head feels heavy right now, but that is more because of a headache. Drink some water, and leave the peanut butter alone for a while. Your body just may not be used to it.

After being deployed, I hadn't eaten meat for months. When I got back home, I had a big hamburger. I was sick as a dog for two days. Your body may just need to adjust to it.Health Question & Answer

It's kind of hard to judge from here whether or not you're allergic to peanuts. Peanut allergies aren't always severe. If you're worried about it see a doctor. If you are severly allergic they can hook you up with an auto injector to deliver epinephrine (adrenaline) in case of an allergic attack.

If you start having trouble breathing call 911 (if you live in the U.S. that is).Health Question & Answer

if your allergic to peanuts, you would know it. you would have a reaction to eating it. you would go in to anaphylatic shock, your throat swells shut and you can't breath. if that happens then yes your allergic to peanuts.Health Question & Answer

if you felt that immediately, then you are probably not allergic. that is in your head, dude. you would know a REAL allergic reaction. just eat it and enjoy.Health Question & Answer
