Is it possible to swallow top plate?!
Question: Is it possible to swallow top plate.?
I got my top plate today, and Im so nervous about wearing it..It fits great..Im just sooo scared of it going too far back in my throat..I almost panic..My husband told me he knew I wouldnt wear them..I really want to..any suggestions..serious answers only please..I got choked when I was a little kid on hard candy and i think that affected me about worrying about choking...thanks in advance, and please tell me I cant choke on my plate..Health Question & Answer

I think you are talking about a top denture. Or are you talking about a top retainer.?
If it's a denture or a retainer there's no way you can choke on it. It fits against your top palate like a jig saw puzzle and cannot move. If you are worried you can use some fixodent to just hold it better. That should do the trick and give you some added confidence.

FYI,
it's important to NEVER wear these while sleeping.
There are well documented photos in the dental literature that show some folks who'd swallowed the denture while sleeping.
Since there isn't a way for these dentures to pass, they must be SURGICALLY removed.
The best thing to do is to store them in a container by your bed while you sleep.Health Question & Answer
