When you eat, you get food stuck in your teeth and gums, etc. If you brush after you eat, then you're fine. But, you should not eat a meal before an appointment unless you brush your teeth afterward. It's not as if the dentist will yell at you and force you out of his office, but it does make his job harder since he has to determine if what he's looking at is a cavity, or part of a popcorn kernel.Health Question & Answer
