Can you get too much fiber?!
Question: Can you get too much fiber.?
I'm changing my diet a bit and it comes to like 55 g of fiber per day at 2700 cals and 315 g carbs. The recommended amount is like 30 something for someone my age/gender, is it too much and will it be bad for me.? Health Question & Answer

Too much fibre may cause diarrhea, and make it difficult to eat a full 2700 calories a day because of satiety. As long as you ease yourself into it though, it should be ok. I've been eating over 80 grams of fibre for the better part of a year and have seen little to no complications. Just three weeks ago I was eating 150 grams a day. Sure, I was regular (five times a day) and completely stuffed all of the time, but it didn't hurt me. Health Question & Answer
My dad eats those Fiber One bars all the time and he is the gassiest person I know. I think fiber can make you gassy, but I'm not 100% sure because I only witnessed this in one person. Other than that, he doesn't have any real health problems, so I don't think you can get too much.Health Question & Answer
