Question: Are raisins a healthy snack or do they contain too much sugar.?
I love snacking on raisins! Since theyre a fruit I figured they were a perfect food to snack on thoughout the day, but now that I realized how much sugar is in them I'm not too sure :S

Don't worry about the sugar...it's natural and healthy. Just be careful about calories. Raisins can add up pretty quickly. Remember that each little raisin used to be a grape! I'd limit myself to one box a day (not the mini-box) and eat other types of fruit too. Health Question & Answer
Raisins are better for endurance athletes, because of their carbohydrate and sugar content. Now, a box a day isn't going to kill you, but if you're grazing away at them all day, the calories are going to build up. Eating plain grapes would be better for you. It is very healthy because a raisin contains natural sugar. This kind of sugar isn't processed like packaged sugar. Natural sugar NATURALLY comes with the fruit/vegetable unlike "artificial" sugar.Health Question & Answer
well one fruit portion of raisins is about one tablespoon, so i suppose as long as you remember that while you snack and dont end up eating half the bag, its a pretty healthy snack!Health Question & Answer
