I will go out on a limb here and say that my answer will be the best answer already.

The word "DIET" is a four-letter word. We are all on a diet, whether it be a diet of vegetables and fruits or a diet of Wendy's and Whataburger.

Instead, consider yourself in need of a carefully-observed intake regimen. If you want to lose that amount of weight in that amount of time (and never go by anyone else's numbers by the way. You are NOT a statistic! You are an individual with your own bodily requirements. Who's to say you cannot lose that much because your body doesn't fit that criteria. You go by their 'diet' and become depressed that it didn't work out for you).

If you want to do something for yourself in the area of weight loss, take my experiences for yourself and follow this adivce:

1. INCREASE the number of meals you eat throughout the day.

2. DECREASE the size of those meals you eat.

3. DETERMINE the size of the meals to lead into what your'e about to do next (i.e., exercise/working, or resting/sleeping)

4. FOCUS in on some foods that are directly related to a person's health (i.e., raw spinach, yogurt (for calcium), oranges and bananas (for potassium))

5. REFRAIN from eating hours before bedtime to ensure you are hungry enough to eat a fulfilling breakfast in the morning. This requires some discipline.

6. HYDRATE! When exercising, never go without slight liquid intake for more than several minutes at a time. Athletes assess their hydration at such minimal levels that regular life would deem them unnecessary for survival. If you find yourself having to drink many gulps at a time, a failure is occurring somewhere and needs to be corrected.

Incorrect hydration can lead to heart failure. I should know since I have congestive heart failure. Then you TRULY have to watch your hydration and it is NOT fun.

Yes, hydration can be fun since there are so many options today. You can hydrate yourself with some of my previous favorites like: gatorade, powerade, bottled water, SoBe life drinks. Avoid caffeine and NEVER drink 'uppers' like Red Bull. As a former body builder and current cardiac patient with experience, allow me to assure you that the fastest way to put an end to that pesky heart inside you is to take the easy road to confidence.

Want to feed your heart.? Eat calcium and potassium products, but not to excess because we can overdose on those two minerals. Those are the two foods that aid the heart. Grim but true: the lethal injection during executions is merely a lethal dose of potassium chloride.

NEVER use ephedra (same reason as Red Bull). You want to know what it feels like to have a sack of rice laying on top of your heart.? Go overdose on uppers for a few years and ignore the fact that all herbal pills are not FDA approved. That sack of rice feels just like a 'charlie horse' in the leg. Ever have one of those.? Consider that pain where you can't even get to it: deep in your chest. Instead, consider the inside of your chest as the beginning point of all your body's energies that flow out to your limbs and beyond. While there is no scientific basis for it, it proves to be a major contributor to drugless confidence.

7. CLEANSE your body's digestive tract before performing any extreme exercise. This usually takes about 2-3 days and will show some weight loss after doing so, but that loss is deceiving because you're simply removing the residual from inside your intestines. You can do this by concentrating on eating ruffages (lettuce, spinach, fiber) and drinking water ONLY.

Cleansing also removes 'toxins' that make your body seem like it's immune to certain lesser quality foods. In fact, you will notice after removing toxins that to return to some of the lesser quality foods will cause your body to experience aches and discomforts it hadn't previously. Allow me to give you an example. I love fast food, but after cleansing, I go back and eat it to experience a backache I hadn't before. Think of toxins as excrement located all around your body that for some reason cannot be excreted with the sweat glands and adheres to muscles and tissues. The removal of these will make you feel like a cleaner person on the inside.

Muscles will excrete toxins when building muscle mass the first few weeks or so that must be flushed out to avoid too much soreness. A specific balance of heat and cold in the shower can aid this as well as avoiding milk products.

Water is the best filter for the body because it contains few, if any, additives. Bottled water is ideal and suggested at all times. Ever have a high temperature and want to reduce it.? Attack it with vitamin C and drink nothing but water for at least 24 hours to FLUSH the disease out. The immediate dissipation will occur (basically, the heat will 'lift' off of you) when you begin to sense a cold sweat from the neck up. Keep in mind that this isn't the end of the sickness but the high temperature.

8. EXERCISE the areas of your body that require 'molding'. For instance, a bloated belly only can be melted away by using the crunching machine or doing crunches.

9. EAT extremely light meals during the exercise process. Make sure your meals beforehand are packed with the things you need to sustain yourself in the realm of vitamins. Take granola bars with you, or peanuts/cashews/etc. for a good source of protein while exercising.

10. NEVER go from rested to extremely active immediately. This takes time and your body deserves it. Once again, don't follow some benchmark statistic like "It takes 30 minutes for your body to start burning fat". Instead, look at it like, "It will take a slight amount of time for my body to shift into an inertial state as to burn fat for me." Remember that a body will burn calories before it burns fat. Lesser caloric intake will make it less time-consuming to achieve fat-burning. See.? Now you're not a statistic like so many health salespeople inadvertently say you are!

Short term diets don't work well, you will usually end up gaining the weight back. The body cannot lose fat cells, they only shrink. When you eat more, fat cells get larger and multiply. The best way to keep off weight is a life-long process of eating right and exercising.Health Question & Answer
