Question: I am 5'5ft and my husband 5'8ft but our 13 years daughter is 4'11ft only.she is not growing tall, what to do.?
she is little fat but not much she menstured 3 years back.should i consult a doctor.? which doctor(means specialist ).?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Its not an issue of heridity as both of you are not that short. So the problem is with her nutrition. since she menstured at the age of 10-11 only, which is bit early, her body lacks essential calcium and iron which is required for proper growth. I hope you are getting me. So all what you need for her is proper nutrients and diet supplements. You might be aware of the fact that Reader's Digest has been declaring Nutrilite as the best food supplement brand in Asia for past 4 years. I am sure Nutrilite's Iron Folic and Calmag tablets will be helpful. My younger sis used the same and she gained 2 inches at the age of 16. For more details you can mail me if u feel like. Health Question & Answer

She is only 13 years old and based on the type of genes she has inherited, dominant or recessive traits, that will determine her height characteristics. She could inherit height from previous generations too. So let her grow in her own time. She has till 21 yrs.

With regard to weight, mild exercise is recommended, but a good balanced diet will help her tone as well as menstruate normally. Heavy exercise leads to irregular periods.

You should also check her thyroid hormone results (That is done in any patho lab) The tyroid gland relates to height in many ways. Consult a doctor, and do a full test for her. So its a good diet and a check up thats best needed for her. best of luck.Health Question & Answer

Health Question & Answer

She is only 13. You don't stop growing until after you turn 20 (in most cases). Although, by that point you are growing very very slowly.

And, no offense or anything. But both of you are only the lowish end of average height. So she will probably end up in the low 5ft area. But there is a great deal of chance. You never know, when she turns 19 she might be 5'9.

You really have nothing to worry about. 4'11 is still in the normal height range, and the chances of your daughter not growing several more inches are pretty slim. also I have an aunt around that height, and she is perfectly normal. (Her daughter, my cousin, is much taller then her as well).Health Question & Answer

She still has time to grow. Personally, I'm younger than my sister by 3 years but I'm taller than her simply because I ate more, drank milk before bed every night, and ran around a lot.
