Question: Is it bad to have protein shakes for instead of Breakfast.?
I'm 18 (male) very skinny, i can't gain weight for the life of me. I can't ever get myself to eat in the morning, I'm always in a rush in the morning, and I'm never hungry when i wake up, but i know i should eat.

Would it be bad for me to have a powder mix protein shake instead of cereals/grains/toast like i usually try to do.? I'd be doing this EVERY day, it seems like it would be convenient compared to having to pour cereal or wait on my slow toaster.

Would my body not accept it because its all liquid and get diarrhea or something.? Theres not a lot of carbs in protein shakes is there.? and i know you should have a lot of carbs in the morning, right.?Health Question & Answer

Protein in the morning is a whole lot healthier than that glycemic load you are packing with cereal and toast. Go for the protein, and you may start to add some of the weight you want. also have some before bed.Health Question & Answer

yeah you need lots of carbs and sugar. This causes fat gain which is good in your case. Remember to take lots of fruits and veges. You can use protein shakes (don't substitute them for meals though) but remember don't go overboard with the protein shakes unless you workout. You should get 1 gram of protein per pound of weight. (example: if you weigh 150 pounds you should get 150 g. of protein a day).
