Answers:
It depends. The word "diet" can mean so many things to different people. If the instructor meant eating a calorie intake of less than 1200 calories a day, or a crash diet...then yes. But, if you eat enough meals during the day, and eat healthy foods like grains, vegetables, fruits, and lean protein, and drink lots of water...then no.

You have to be smart about losing body fat. You shouldn't care about losing the weight, just the fat which makes you lose those stubborn belly inches.

To lose the tummy, you have to burn more calories than you consume. So, to lose a pound of fat a week you would have to have a calorie deficit of 3500 calories. Although, it sounds like a lot, it's actually not that much. You could do little exercise to burn 250 calories & then deduct 250 calories from your current eating habits. To lose 2 pounds of fat per week you have to increase the calorie deduction & burn more calories. Of course, you should never try to lose more than 2-3 pounds per week depending on how your body is built, and how overweight you are. Granted, some people may lose 5 pounds in a week first starting on a "diet." Others may not lose any for awhile.

You can't rush losing body fat. If you try to lose too much, too fast, it can actually do you more harm than good.

There's a really good website that you can use & it's completely free!
You can track your nutrition, fitness, weight loss...etc. They have free fitness videos that are really easy, and they have motivational tools...it's cool!

It's true. This guy's a genius. Actually it's just basic scientific knowledge.
Up your fats (butter, cream, lard...) cut your carbs and you'll lose that tummy in no time. Health Question & Answer

Yes. Your body keeps the fat for emergencies. Building muscle, burns fat. Muscle is heavier than fat, but takes up very little space. You loose inches not pounds.
