Okay first of all I am 14, weigh 140, have huge thighs, and I'm 5'4. I look fine and healthy and I'm pretty sure you do too. Stop stressing over your looks so much! But you want some suggestions so here they are (these are all things that I do to lose weight and I have gone from 160 to 140 in six months) instead of holding an entire bag of chips while watching TV try pouring a little into a bowl and eating that instead. If you have the bag you might just eat all of it because you aren't paying attention to how much you are eating like how you are paying attention to the tv. also, FOLLOW PORTION SIZES!!! read the portion amount on food. You may feel really hungry but try eating just that amount and wait 10 minutes. You may not feel as hungry later because it takes your brain about 20 min. to tell you if you have had enough food. also you said you wanted guidelines:

1. NO FAST FOOD! If you do have it, only 2 TIMES A MONTH.
2. Fruits, fruits, fruits! Eat at least one piece of fresh fruit every day.
3. Soda, believe it or not, can cause you to gain weight. Stick to just one a day and you may start to lose weight after a week.
4. Do crunches, situps, pushups, and other core body exercises every day. Make sure you stretch too so you don't pull muscles.
5. Don't like running.? what about jumping.? if you have a trampoline jump around and goof off on it for about 20 min. a day.
6. weight lift. might sound kind of manly but believe me, girls weight lift too.
7. Keep a food diary for a week. For those 7 days write down everything you eat and drink. After the week is over, flip back through it and look at what you ate. think about the sugar and oils and stuff in what you ate and keep in mind the amount that you ate. this makes you more aware of what you are eating and helps you to stop snacking so much.

PS I hope this helps and I'm sorry if i've been sounding rudeHealth Question & Answer

7 dress sizes.?! Sounds like a lot for your weight and height.

Anyway, yes, dancing's a good aerobic exercise even if you don't see dramatic results. Try adding floor exercises to tighten stomach muscles. Then, cut WAY back on snacks, no more than 1 a day. Stop eating after dinner. Give your stomach a 12-hour rest.

Good luck -- you're ambitious!Health Question & Answer

dont so much fast food and junkfood and exersize more and watch less tvHealth Question & Answer

Sounds to me like you already know the answer. You mention in your question that you eat while watching TV, and when you get bored, you eat.

You get bored because you have no challenge before you. Find something to do that challenges you either mentally or physically, or both.

You do not need to run, just do something besides sitting and watching TV. Whether you eat or not while sitting, it is not good.

Actually you are not very overweight anyway. I do not think loosing 7 dress sizes is a realistic goal. You could easily grow another inch in that time and 5'5" and 130 is pretty good, so you only need to loose 10 pounds. Even if you do not grow at all that would not be to bad.

Good luck and God BlessHealth Question & Answer

I think you need to stop focusing on how many dress sizes you want to lose. You could look your best and not lose any dress sizes. Try not to snack when you are watching tv, I tend not to pay attention to how much I'm eating when I'm distracted by tv and I end up eating way more than I intended. When you eat sit down and focus on what you are eating. I think that will help you out a lot. Keep up with the fruits and veggies, try to stick to low fat cheese and other low calorie foods. Always get some good exercise in. I hate running too, but I really like taking kickboxing and yoga classes. I love riding my bike too. Try to mix it up so you don't get bored with your exercise routine.Health Question & Answer

I'm thinking that unless all your extra weight is in a small vertical section of your body, it would be impossible to lose 7 dress sizes. That would be at the very least about 35 lbs and as much as 70 lbs..
In any case you have to burn 3500 calories to lose a lb. And the 1st thing to do is to stop adding lbs. Snack foods are out!!! Fruits are not the best way to diet either. They are loaded with sugar and some people think they can eat all they want because it is a FRUIT... They end up NOT losing weight. ONE piece of fruit for a snack in between meals is the most you should have.
If you are active enough to burn about 2000 calories a day then that would be your base line. Any more will add weight any less will lose weight. But since you have to burn 3500 extra calories just to lose a lb, you won't lose a lot of weight just eating a good low calory meal. You need to burn up some extra calories. Knowing that all the things you do in a day just burn up 2000 or so calories you gotta know that an extra 3500 is no easy task. also some people, when they start exercising, start craving more food. Then with the added muscle and the fact that they ate as many calories as they burned, theyGAIN weight.
Now with all that said... Swimming is good to take off the mid section, but it will build the upper body. Walking and running may get rid of fat but some people with large thighs and butts sometimes don't notice much change because they become more muscular in the same area.
I believe that a long low speed full body work out, like digging ditches and carrying small loads for many hours etc.. is the best way. Not to practical for somebody that has to do something like go to school all day. About an hour and a half of wild and crazy dancing to a rappid paced music should do the job though. 5 days a week or every night or morning. All people are not the same when it comes to losing weight. Some people can lose weight easy and others not so. But one rule that never changes is calories in calories out. If you put ten million calories in and take ten million calories out.. YOU will not gain or lose weight.. If you put ten million calories in and burn ten million and 100 calories out then you will lose weight. If you put in ten million calories and burn out 900,000 then you will gain weight. It really is that simple... Good luck and stick with whatever you do.
