How many calories is this cooking?!

Question: How many calories is this cooking.?
Its my moms cooking and I know its unhealthy but she makes me eat it:

She cooks a big pot of beef boiled in water with olive oil, seasonings (they have a lot of sodium but zero calories), chopped onion, fat free garlic, and cilantro leaves.

Then she cooks a pot of extra long grain enriched brown rice in:
water, canola oil, sea salt, minced garlic, and fat free garlic.

I hate it because I know it has a lot of calories because of the oils and it has a lot of sodium. She puts A LOT of oil but then it is a pretty big pot of food because its for the whole family. I'll eat about a 3oz portion of the beef and a little less than a half cup rice. (or a 1/4.?.? which is better.?)

How many calories would I be eating.?.?.? I want it to be 550 or under, how much would I eat if it is already to much for that.?.?.?.?
HELP!

I have ballet class for an hour today and I've eaten 450 calories so far today. Will this screw up my whole diet.?.?!Health Question & Answer

Probably 330 calories for meat alone; if you add anything like sides or bread, add.Health Question & Answer

Olive oil is actually healthy for youHealth Question & Answer

You do not say what kind of beef your mom boils. Some cuts of beef are lean are some are marbled or fatty and have more calories. The only way you can tell how many calories are in a 3 oz. portion is to know whether it's a fatty or a lean cut. But, nevertheless, 3 oz. of boiled beef with garlic and seasonings is relatively healthy unless there is a lot of salt or sodium and, even worse, artificial colors and flavorings.

You seem to not have much knowledge about dietary matters because all garlic is fat free and 1/2 cup of rice is twice as much as 1/4 cup of rice, but even 1/2 cup is a healthy portion and rice is very healthy -- especially brown rice. However, plain brown rice is better than enriched brown rice (in fact, I never heard of enriched brown rice because it is already enriched if they haven't bleached it and made it white rice).

Cilantro leaves are a good natural seasoning and olive oil is excellent. It protects the heart. Canola oil is not good for you, but that and the large amount of sodium seem to be the worst thing on the menu. I question whether you know what a lot of sodium is unless you mean she makes the meat too salty because the things you mentioned such as the oilive oil, cilantro, garlic and onion do not have any sodium. Sea salt is the most healthy kind of salt to use for cooking and eating.

Bottom line, you are only eating 3 oz. of meat, any kind of meat and 1/2 cup rice, any kind of rice, and that is not nowhere near 550 calories anyway you look at it. Unless you mean added to the 450 calories you've already injested. In which case, there is no way you can make a meal for 100 calories unless you ate only the rice or only a serving of vegetables with no meat or oil at all.

Are you saying you are trying to be on a diet of 550 calories a day.? If so, you will be very sick and undernourshed in a very short amount of time.Health Question & Answer
