if you eat breakfast everyday and then nothing else for the rest of the day for a week will your body go into starvation mode and start storing the fat

Breakfast is wonderful but definitely not enough to provide your body with the proper nutrients for you to properly function. Yes, your body will start to store the fat and you will gain weight because it will be harder to exercise and lose that weight. Starving yourself weakens all your bones, muscles, heart, brain, etc. Even if you are eating breakfast, and even if it is a big breakfast, it is not enough to get you through the entire day. Your body will realize that you are not giving it enough nutrition and start storing the fat.

yes it will. you are better to eat 6 small meals a day. that way your not hungry, your metabolism will be higher, and you will burn fat.
