Question: Do you think i am eating Healthy.?
ok it may be a little long but those who are trainers or people who really work out and are fitness conscious and not DIET conscious please respond. thanks :)

ok so yes i would like to slim down. when i was dating my hubby i was a size 2 and a year later i'm a 6 :/ so...i got a trainer at my gym and we do like 15 mins of cardio and then the rest is with free weights, lunges, box jumps, etc for an hour 3 times a wk.

for breakfast it usually varies btwn yogurt and a banana or the quaker oatmeal (the original plain brand) made with soy vanilla silk milk at about a half a cup.

lunch is about 3 to 4 cups of romaine lettuce, baby spinach, carrots, cellery and cucumbers with about 1/2 to 3/4 tablespoon of ceasar dressing (i pour it on my tablespoon to make sure and i just dip the tip of the fork in it before i bunch up my fork with the yummy salad)

dinner is normally a small side salad with a piece of lean protein like chicken or fish or on the days i work out then a decent fruit salad (bc i hate eating after i work out i get sick like)

so is this an ok meal. i'm at about 150 and are hoping to slim back down to the 120 i was at. oh and i only drink water (about a gallon btwn 8-5 when i'm at work. i'm not big on juices, bc it's loaded with sugar, or on soda. i've never liked it.)

First, let me say that your choices are all healthy foods.

however, i don't think they are conducive to fat loss. and no. 2, you are wayyyy undereating. at your current weight, you should be eating approximately 1800 calories every day. more precisely 225 grams of protein. 80 grams of fat. no more than 50 grams of carbs. divide that into 4 or 5 meals evenly.

also, i believe carbs should be earned. when we are overweight and have fat to lose, i eliminate carbs. when we reach our goal, then we re-introduce carbs back into our life. slooooooooowly. and at the correct times of the day. breakfast. and after our workout. no need for carbs any other time. carbs only provide us with energy.

carbs are non essential. if people tell you otherwise, ask them this:

"Please tell me the name of one essential carbohydrate" they can't. it doesn't exist.

then ask them this:

"Please tell me an essential protein. or an essential fat." i'm not sure if they can, but they exist! why.? cuz our bodies NEED them for growth and repair.

ok sorry for ranting. but the anit-low-carb people drive me crazy. if they truly understood how our bodies work, they wouldn't spread such garbage. i like the phrase, "if they knew better, they'd do better"


dont forget to make your cardio progressive. if you are doing 3 x per week. work up to 7 days per week at 30 mins.

when the fat loss stalls, add 10 mins to each session. don't go highter than 60 mins per session. that is progression.
