It's called Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) describes a phenomenon of muscle pain, soreness or stiffness that is felt 12-48 hours after exercise, particularly at the beginning of a new an exercise program, after a change in sports activities, or after a dramatic increase in the duration or intensity of exercise.
elayed onset muscle soreness is thought to be a result of microscopic tearing of the muscle fibers. The amount of tearing (and soreness) depends on how hard and how long you exercise and what type of exercise you do. Any movement you aren't used to can lead to DOMS, but eccentric muscle contractions (movements that cause muscle to forcefully contract while it lengthens) seem to cause the most soreness.

It will heal it's self in 3-7 days take an anti-inflammatory like Advil if you want if the pain doesn't go away ask a doc. Health Question & Answer

If you pulled a hamstring, you would have known it the second you did it. Sounds like your just sore. This too shall pass.

If it doesn't get better within a week, I would see a doctor.

Keep taking the advil, the aspirin will counteract the acid build up in your muscles, and stretch when you feel like you can. That'll work out the acid, too. Remember to warm up before and after a work out to prevent some soreness. Best of luck!Health Question & Answer

It really deepends on the person...
for me It can happen right away or within 48 hrs.
You should elevate, ice and continue taking ibuprofen.
It doesn't usually happen on both legs- so it could be that you are sore on one leg and pulled a muscle on the right.
If it doesn't go away within a few more days then get checked out

Next time- warm up ;)
Its better to take time to warm up for a few minutes (at least) then a week off with problems. Health Question & Answer

A pulled hamstring you will feel for weeks. Months depending on the severity of the injury. If its just muscle soreness from intense but proper stretching then it usually lasts a couple of days and is good for you because good changes are happening in your body. I have been in a sittuation when I didn't warm up, and stretch.. Plus, I didn't have the right shoes.. It took me a little less than a month to stop feeling pain, and the soreness that went with that.. I recommend you try stretching it out, and if you still work out, do things lightly, don't work out until the pain is gone, because then it will come back worse than before. You should always stetch before and after a work out.. that's a mistake most people make
