Question: Is it not good to stop exercising for a week.?
Okay, this week, I have a lot of tests to take, so I have decided to stop exercising for about 5 days.

I have heard that sticking to your routine is very important in exercising. Is there anything wrong with my postponing.?Health Question & Answer

Actually taking a short break is a good thing, especially if you are entering a very stressful or busy period. If you are lifting heavy most studies support taking 1 week off/light every 5-8 weeks to allow your body to heal and your nervous system to recover.

So take the time off. If you want to get a light workout in the middle that wouldn't hurt and might help with finals as it will get the blood flowing. One down side to stopping workouts is that your body is used to it and might slow down if you don't do something active. the good thing is give times for your muscle to really health and recover. I would not take more than 5-7 days off. Still eat clean and if you have some time, do some push-ups and sit ups at least to keep the blood flow in your muscle, get a little pump for muscle memory.

The bad part is!!! once you start taking some days off. It's easier to get out of your schedule and start making excuses not to go and 5 days off starts to turn into 10.

Keep taking supplements on your days off. Take a protein shake still and a multi vitamin

but taking a week off is not bad. Some time works well. but make sure you get back on schedule right after. I hope you end up missing it and right back in the gym within 5 days for sure.
