Protein meal bars bad for you!? ?!

Question: Protein meal bars bad for you!.? .?
Ok, I was looking for something new to try (usually I have a soy protein shake in the morning) and that keeps me full through my workout and until lunch but I bought some of those South Beach meal bars and had two of them today... they were each like 20 g of protein. I feel SO sick and bloated, what's in them that could make me feel this way.?
Are you supposed to have no more than one per day.?

I think I'm going to go back to my regular diet.. Health Question & Answer

Answers:
you're talking to a hardcore health freak and vegan right now so bear with me. my views might not be exactly like yours but if feel like it's the truth with that i'm about to say.

have you read the ingredients on those South Beach meal bars.? they are LOADED with unnecessary ingredients that are useless to you in your body. if i were you, i would stick to the natural products. i recommend larabars. they have no more than four or five ingredients tops. they are loaded with protein and contain nothing but natural, good for you foods! they are quite addicting though so beware! and even if you're feeling for more of a sweet tooth flavor they have a larabar version called jocolat which are TO DIE FOR.

diets don't work. south beach is one of the most hypocritical ridiculous diet plans i have ever heard of. i prefer sticking to the good stuff. the wholesome stuff. think about it, if you don't know what you're eating, why eat it.?

hope this helps!
check out the larabar website.Health Question & Answer

they probably contain sugar alcohols, which contributes to bloating and other stomach issues because your body can't actually digest it.

Learn how to read the labels on what you're eating and stick to all natural ingredients when in doubt.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

i eat 2 a day too, and they are fine if you can fit them into your daily calorie plan. I use them as snacks rather then meals tho lol, then again im trying to gain weight since my bmi is 17.5Health Question & Answer
