I do both. My gym is near my house so if I find myself not doing anything or if I am just watching tv I just go. Thats because I work an 8-5, plus I teach nutrition at night at a local university here. So my schedule is not really set, but I usually go at night. On weekends I go during the day. If I am out of town I pop in a DVD or go to the hotel's gym.

My gym doesn't have Salsa, so my Salsa exercise DVD is fun for days I am not in the mood for the muscle show at Golds. But the folks here are right-Don't NOT do the gym. You SHOULD join one. Paying someone is already an incentive to go.

My best advice: Take one day at a time. If you miss a few days...so what.? I may miss 5 days but I get on the wagon, and next thing I know I've gone 10-20 days in a row! So it takes WILL, consistency, & dedication. Patience. I have a workout partner and we motivate each other when we are being lazy. We hold each other accountable and it helps. She has been working out longer than me so she lost 40 pounds on her own. I just started working out and I lose about 1-2 pounds a week. For a total of 6 so far. Good luck, have fun!Health Question & Answer

defiantly go to the gym. work out videos are ok but because your watching someone else and not yourself your form maybe off and you can hurt yourself. at the gym you can have your own program drawn up and they'll watch you and correct anything that may need help. they'll start you off light then slowly build you up giving you awesome results. just make sure that YOU are comfortable with the program dont do anything your not gonna like..

Go to the gym.
You want to be in a diffrent enviroment when your working out.
It would be boring just to exercise at home.
Plus you could get a trainer to work on your problem areas if you wanted to.Health Question & Answer
