Question: Tell me if this is a good workout or not for a 14 year old whos trying to build muscle.?
this is my workout:

Bench Press: 20 reps of 25 kg.
Dumbell Flys for chest: 2 sets,12-10 of 10 kg dumbells.
Bicep Curls: 40 reps of 8 kg dumbells.
Leg Curls: 25 Reps of 30 kg.

ABS:

70 Crunches
20 Side Crunches
25 bicycle Crunches
30 Leg Raises

One of my sons is 14 and we lift together.

If you want to build strength or size, as soon as you can do more than 20 reps you need to increase the weight you are lifting.

Frequently increase the weight you are lifting, otherwise you will not get stronger.

Flys and many other exercises that only use one joint are not very effective, especially for beginners. Bicep and leg curls are okay.

Real strength = Overall strength. So, exercise all the major muscles of your body. For example routine:

. Overhead press
. Pull-ups or bent row
. Bench press
. Squat (if you dont' have a squat rack do dead lifts)
. Leg curl
. Bicep curl (not really needed if you work pull-ups or rows hard)
. Ab exercises

If you are doing an exercise and become too tired to keep good form -- you should stop that exercise and rest. That will prevent all sorts of injuries.
