The food industry has more revenue than ALL of the corporations in America today. With all that money, it's no wonder with that kind of power, the food industry has been able to direct the food eaten in America to favor distribution, shelf life, and other factors over health and then convince people that "it's good for you."

Some of the most blatant and obvious ones are Margarine and Soy. We were told for years that margarine was far better than eating butter. But when you realize that ALL margarines are made from hydrogenating oils, it's not difficult to understand how bad that is for you. Butter, on the other hand, is very good for you if it comes from cows fed grass and the butterfat is processed using RAW dairy.

Soy is terrible for you unless it is fermented like the Japanese people eat (miso, natto, soy sauce). It slows your thyroid down (due to goitrogens in the soy), depletes your body of minerals (especially iron - over 50%), has phytoestrogens that give men "man boobs," inhibits protein digestion, and many, many more problems with soy. The food industry adds soy to many products, such as cheeses, dog foods, and is used extensively as a food extender, etc.

The average American ate about 10 pounds of sugar per year in the early 1900's and that was considered excessive then. Today, the average American eats over 200 pounds of sugar per year. Is it any wonder that over 26% of ALL Americans are now pre-diabetic or diabetic.

The food industry promotes "Low Fat" products. This is a BIG money maker for the food industry and is very dangerous to the human body. Very few so called "food experts" understand fat and it's roll in the human body. To limit fat is very bad. 30% of a person's diet should be fat and in fact, fat is where the body should get most of it's calories, especially if you want to lose weight.

40% Carbohydrates, 30% fats, 30% proteins is the generalized percentage of food in a person's diet each day that is highly recommended by nutritionists that are knowledgeable. Having said that, the right kinds of fats are very important to understand. Vegetable Oils that are promoted by the food industry are GROSSLY TERRIBLE for you. They are promoted due to their HIGH profitability, not health. Nature provides polyunsaturated fats in seeds, nuts, etc., but along with that nature "package" comes antioxidants in the seeds and nuts, etc. This protects the very unstable polyunsaturates from oxidizing (going rancid). When the oil is extracted, oxygen goes to work and causes the oils to go rancid and this high omega 6 inflammatory fatty acids cause lots of disease and problems in the body. Manufacturers put DEODORIZERS in the oils to keep you from smelling the rancidity when you buy them. Soybean, Canola, Cottonseed, and Corn oils are terrible for you. Don't eat them.

Genetic engineering has been advertised by the food industry as "good for you," just like "DDT" was advertised as "good for you" when it was first introduced. Allergies have increased more than double in recent years since the introduction of genetic engineering. also, a big resistance to antibiotics are becoming rampant; look at the MSRA problem. Monsanto is leading the charge with this garbage and the rest of the world has banned it, labels it GMO, and the public has rejected it overwhelmingly, yet in America, it is NOT LABELED and is being put into a huge amount of food. The FDA is headed by an ex-Monsanto executive and over 50% of all the employees are ex-Monsanto employees. Is it no wonder GMO foods are NOT labeled in America and considered SAFE.? Go to: www.thefutureoffood.com and get the DVD and watch it. You will be shocked and amazed at what is happening in America today right under our noses.

The food pyramid was bought and paid for by the highest bidder. The pasteurized dairy industry in America is shameful in how sick cows fed grain and put in feed lots give milk that is sick. Because of the profit motives, NOT your health as it is advertised and promoted, this sick milk is pasteurized to "kill the germs." It kills most of them, but 2% to 3% germs are alive in that milk that causes Crones disease, allergic reactions due to altered proteins, calcium that ends up in the body as cataracts, bone spurs, and kidney stones. Cheeses that take ONE DAY to make that contain huge amounts of lactose that very few people can digest giving people many diseases.

The meat industry does NOT follow the World Health Organization's recommendations on processing meat like the rest of the world. AMR beef is common place now in hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. This is very dangerous product that comes from a very large crushing machine that takes bones, eyes, brain parts (from fragments in the killing process), and most dangerous, prions that cause dementia after 20 years of eating it.

The food industry is not our friend. The processed foods are the leading cause of heart disease in America Health Question & Answer
