Answers:
Well, gum is usually 5 calories. You burn 11 calories for every hour you chew it.

Do the math. =]

Hope this helps and good luck!Health Question & Answer

You can burn 11 calories per hour chewing gum. If you chewed gum 12 hours a day, that would be 132 calories that you could potentially burn. However, each low-calorie piece of gum is about 5 calories, so how often you replace it will determine how many calories you are burning. If you replace your gum every hour, that's 60 gum calories a day - every other hour, 30 calories in gum. You are still burning between 72-102 calories a day chewing gum. If you replace your gum less frequently, you burn more calories. It only take about 1/2 hour to burn off a piece of gum, so any additional time that you chew it will equal extra calories burnt. It seems negligible, but theoretically if you chewed 6 (5 cal.) pieces of gum a day for 12 hours, you could burn 102 calories a day. With 365 days a year you could burn 37,230 calories a year. Divide by 3,500 (calories in a pound), that's over 10.5 lbs in a year!Health Question & Answer

Well, it doesn't really matter because you burn 60-70 calories an hour no matter what, just by breathing.

But yeah, i think you can burn 5 calories by chewing unless you chewed it for a second or two and spit it out.

Health Question & Answer

If you are counting calories I wouldn't even count it, let it cancel it's self out. Chew the sugar-free kind. If you want to count the calories then just count them but don't subtract for the chewing. That's what I would do with weight watchers.Health Question & Answer

Yea, you get calories from gum but it's usually less than 5 or so.
With everyday activity and what not, you burn more than you get from the gum.
So, if all you had to "eat" all day was gum, you would 'lose weight'Health Question & Answer

well chewing gum makes you fell like you're actually eating something so that makes some people stop eating snacks...I recommend you eat sugar-free gum because it usually has 0 calories. And I don't really think chewing gum counts as exercise ;)Health Question & Answer
