Question: Excuse me how can i gain 10 lbs.?
i weigh 103 momentarily and i am 5'2-5'3.so yeah when i weighed 115-120 i looked perfect. but now i am just skinny. my waiste went from 24/25" to a 23". i am losing weigh due to my hectic life and stress. name healthy foods that will help me gain "good fats" and weight. and if i drink ensure everyday will that help out.?

at your current bodyweight, you need to consume approx. 1500 calories to gain weight properly

100 grams of carbs
150 grams of protein
55 grams of fat

divide that evenly into 4-5 meals and that is your start point!

Then, apply "outcome based decision making" in two weeks by seeing if your weight is moving upwards. Check your body appearance too. take measurements to log and track. THAT is how we use outcome based decision making.

if you DO NOT gain weight, add 300 calories per day! in the form of carbs and fats (150 calories of each), leave the protein alone.

add some weight lifting into your life!

keep cardio to a minimum or remove it alltogether if you want.

To gain weight, you obviously need to take in more calories than you burn. There are several healthy foods you should add to your diet that add healthy fat and calories:

- nuts and peanut butter
-avocado
-lean meat (chicken, fish, etc)
-bananas (highest calorie fruit)
-dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots, etc.)
-whole milk
-yogurts/cottage cheese with higher milkfats
-oils (especially olive oil)
-ice cream

I suggest spreading your calories out into 5-6 smaller meals rather than 3 big ones.

If you find it hard to eat more, it may be easier to drink your calories. They sell Boost and Ensure Plus drinks at most supermarkets. Each 8floz bottle has about 350 calories, and plenty of nutrients, plus they come in yummy flavors! If you drink 2 of these a day in addition to regular meals/snacks, you will gain healthy weight fairly quickly. You could also get Carnation Instant breakfast packets and add those to some milk and drink one with every meal or as quick snacks in between meals.

You could also begin weight training if you wish. Gaining muscle weight is better than gaining fat, plus it will help fill you out.

I love this stuff called Muscle Milk its a protien mix you can mix in milk or water...tastes like a milk shake. It's high in good fats and protien. I would also lift weights....No your not going to get huge your just going to shape up and also gain weight because muscle wieghs more than fat. On top of this I would just eat 'clean' like lean grilled chicken with veggies or what ever. Ensure is 'ok' but what is the sugar content.? If thats low than its ok.Health Question & Answer

I am a male 5'11 & weigh 160 pounds.. I too am tryin to gain. I hope this will help;

(Ignore non-veg if do not eat so)

1) High calorie diet - banana milk shakes, dried or natural fruits, yogurt, breakfast bars, muffins etc.
2) Protiens - beans, pulses and peas, fish, meat, eggs.
3) Fat - Butter, cold pressed oils (olive, sunflower, linseed, canola)
4) Juice - Sweet lime, Pine apple, Pomengrate, Apple

I think this all should work out. Do a little bit workouts or exercise. 20-30 mins. seems sufficient here.

Above all!! Don't take tension anymore. Your questions can be solved even if you don't consume tension.

In response to your question about "good fats": You wanna eat mostly monounsaturated fats which are found in most cooking oils (olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil, etc). Monounsaturated fats are good for your heart also. You don't want to eat them too excessively because they are indeed fats. But they are definately preferred over saturated and trans fats (which most come from animal products and hydrogenated foods). Just remember though to start with the basic formula of weight gain: Calories burned < Calories consumed. A good reference is that 1 lb. of fat is rought 3500 kcals (calories). also, you might want to consider putting on a few pounds of muscle to help you achieve your weight goal, rather than just eat more fats. Maybe 4-5 lbs of lean muscle would be sufficient and would look good. If you continue to drink ensure, I would recommend drinking ensure in the morning based on its nutritional info. But, don't let it be a full meal replacement like what they "intend" it to be. Drink is with some fruit or something. I think ensure is intended as a weight loss supplement, and you're not trying to lose weight obviously. I think its a decent supplement, but in your case, I wouldn't sacrifice anything else in your diet just to drink eat. That would totally defeat the purpose of you trying to gain weight.Health Question & Answer
