Is it OK to eat FAT FREE CHEESE?!

Question: Is it OK to eat FAT FREE CHEESE.?
I am on a very low calorie/grams of fat diet. It's going well and all, but I'm just concerned b/c everyone's saying that cheese is fattening. I dont eat meal probably 6/7days of the week. I eat 100cal/1g fat english muffin 2~3times a day, 1egg white/1reg egg twice a day, and about 3fat free cheese. Is this bad.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Is that all you're eating.? You need fruits and vegetables, too! Without them you'll be missing a lot of vitamins and minerals your body needs. They are low calorie and very low fat for the most part so it certainly won't hurt your diet to add them in. You should get 20-35% of your calories from fat (NOT 10% as someone else suggested, TOO LOW, you need good fats to keep your body functioning properly), 45-65% of your calories from carbohydrates (fruits and vegetables are carbs, too!), and 10-35% of your calories from protein (lean protein is best). Focus on being healthy, not just skinny. Good luck!

To answer your original question, fat free cheese is perfectly fine. It's lower calorie than regular cheese and no fat and a good way to get calcium.Health Question & Answer

Ideally ten percent of your diet should be fat. Not just any fat, healthy fats. Look for un saturated fats on the nutrition label and little or no saturated fats when you buy your cheese or anything else for that matter.Health Question & Answer
