Question: Am I a computer addict.?( Girls only please, I really only want a girls advice boys).?
I am on the computer a lot, and i weigh WAY more than I am supposed to. I weigh like 100 pounds and I am only 10!! I don't ever know how to exercise so I am almost obese for my age. Girls, tell me advice on how to lose weight ! please! I am always afraid I am going to die of being way overweight ;((Health Question & Answer

Sounds like me when I was younger. Number one advice, just go out. Walk around your neighborhood for about 30 minutes everyday, listen to your mp3 so you won't get bored, etc. It's refreshing and you just might lose weight. You're only 10, so you should let your body proportion out as you get older but obesity starts at childhood so its good you recognized the problem.Health Question & Answer

First of all, calm down. Being "too big" at your age is so silly to be worrying about. I don't remember how much I weighed at 10, but I'm not thin now, and I doubt I ever will look like the models and some other girls around me. Get involved in something you love to do twice a week, or as much as you want. This may include Girl Scouts, a swim team, dancing, art club, anything that will get you out from in front of the computer and moving around having fun! It's still okay to be on the computer when you like to. also making healthier choices in food will make you feel better about yourself in the long run and will save you a lot of frustration later.
If you are really, truly worried talk to your doctor or your school counselor or school nurse. I'm sure he or she will recommend the same thing I am, and don't worry you're still growing and developing!Health Question & Answer

I am sort of in the same position. However I know when to get off the computer. So I think what you need to do is instead of spending as much time online try asking some friends to go to a park or somewhere or even to your house (where ever will work) and just play sports, walk, tag, anything that keeps you moving. Don't think of it as exercising because that makes you think of diets and all that stuff that no one wants to do. Just think of it as playing and having fun. I recommend swimming. Swimming is a fantastic way to burn calories and which will help you lose weight if you need it. But honestly your 10 you need to stop thinking about your weight and think about life and having fun. Trust me if you think about that stuff so much your going to end up wasting some of your life I know because I feel like I've wasted a lot of my life worrying about the way I look instead of what I want to do. Just have fun!!!! If your bored don't get on the computer or watch tv go for a walk or kick around a soccer ball, jump rope, (jumping rope also is a great way to burn calories) just have fun and do things you like to do that keeps you moving!!! Well if you want the truth. Here is my advice. Turn off the computer and get off your fat *** and GO OUTSIDE! Playstation and Myspace won't pay your bills later in life.

oh just ignore those other rude people. I say if you are only ten, don't worry about going over the top with excercicing. Like someone else suggested, go outside for a walk, play around a little. And it's not just about excercising. If you eat healthier foods and are not on the computer so much then you will see a big difference.
