Can you mount a door frame chin up or pull up bar without drilling holes in the frame for the mounting bracket?!

Question: Can you mount a door frame chin up or pull up bar without drilling holes in the frame for the mounting bracket.?
In other words, is it possible to buy an adhesive so I can stick the brackets to the frame and mount the bar after.? I am 155 pounds and in a quick search I've only seen adhesive like that for small pictures, not to support that much weight. I'm not even sure if my full weight would even be pulling on the brackets (I fell asleep in physics!) Thanks for any info!Health Question & Answer

Adhesive strong enough would probably do as much or more damage than drilling holes. Iron Gym has a pull-up bar that hooks on your doorframe and uses your weight to hold it in place. It's only like $30. Works really well.Health Question & Answer

You could try an adhesive but you would almost certainly wind up on your back missing some teeth when the chin-up bar pulls away from the door and smashes into your face. There's not a glue made that would resist pulling from that angle.

What's wrong with drilling some small holes and inserting a couple of wood screws into the frame.?Health Question & Answer

first of all someone tell abc up there to shut up because this is health and fitness related, secondly, you cant glue anything to do that, do chinups elsewhereHealth Question & Answer

this is wrong category. it has nothing to do with diet or fitnessHealth Question & Answer
