Gained Five Pounds? From Water?!

Question: Gained Five Pounds.? From Water.?
first off, neither my diet nor exercise has changed. i've been trying to increase my water intake since i've noticed i haven't been getting nearly enough liquids. so yesterday, i had a ton of water, and have peed numerous times since then. yesterday morning, my weight was 106, and this morning, after i peed yet again, it's 111. and is still 111 even after exercise. like i said, my diet hasn't changed, so i know for sure it's not that. it's not my sodium intake, or my time of the month, either. i also just went to the bathroom [number two], so i don't that it's that. the only thing that could add this weight would be the water, but shouldn't i have peed/sweat it out by now.? how long until i'm 106 again.?

also, yesterday, after i drank the water, my stomach bloated a lot, and is still slightly bloated. why did this happen.?Health Question & Answer

if you dont drink water like you should everyday, when you actually do, and you drink alot you will bloat. plus your body isnt use to getting this much water and it needs it so it tries to store it. its just water weight that you gained. try not to eat a lot of salt, salt will make you retain water. dont starve your body of water, drink water everday, and eventually your body will get used to getting water and it wont stay in your body and it will help flush your system out.Health Question & Answer

it sounds like you gorged on water. Having water retention is a balance of sodium, calcium, and potassium. If your stomach was swollen you have a problem possibly with your kidneys and or bladder or even heart.
If you gained 5 pounds in 1 day you should run to the Emergency room.
Swelling in the mid section is dangerous.
The pressure is unhealthy for your heart and other organs.
It would take alot to hold on to 5 pounds of water. It takes 3500 calories to gain 1 pound of fat.
Hormones and Thyroid and heart conditions can cause such a rapid onset. Health Question & Answer

Did you eat something before drinking water.? That can cause expansion of the foods, causing your stomach to slightly bloat up. That is probably what happened. After the expansion, it'll become slightly more difficult to reduce that weight by exercising.Health Question & Answer

I recently (about 3 months ago) made a conscious effort to drink more water and I have completely cut out soda. It took almost two weeks and my body finally started responding to the change in water intake. I would say that on any given day my body still can fluctuate about 5 lbs throughout the day. Give it a little time and your body will adjust. I am sure when you first start upping your fluid intake your body doesn't know how long term it is, and can retain additional fluids to try to save them for the next time you go for a long time without water. Remember that the majority of your body's composition is water and water is the first thing you should give back to feed your body. I feel great now that I have gotten my body back on track and drink a ton of water. I eat less because I am not as hungry as I thought I was, I was just thirsty. I weigh about 3 lbs less. I think my skin is better, and my hair is shinier!!
Give it some time!Health Question & Answer
