Question: Whats a great way to dramatically loose weight.?
I'm 17 , overweight , and unhappy about it. I try hard to eat balanced meals. I don't eat junk food or over-eat , I'm always home , No gyms by me or anything and i dont wanna go out jogging in front of neighbors and etc...whats a great way to dramatically loose weight .? When i start a diet and dont see results , i go back to the old me..Any pills , or things I could do , to change this .?Health Question & Answer

Hi, There's two ways you could go and I think either way will work for you. The second one will give you the "dramatic" results you're looking for, but it's hard to sustain. I always suggest going on it for the first two weeks, and then you'll be motivated for the long haul. The first suggestion is better for the "long haul."

First of all, my best suggestion is to learn to eat healthy.

That means understand the food pyramid, the food groups, the recommended servings, etc. That is how you should eat for life! If you eat that way and have 3 small, healthy meals a day and 2 small, healthy snacks, you will lose weight. Each meal should be less than 400 calories and each snack should be about 100-150 calories. Eating highly nutritious foods is the key, so think in terms of lean protein, veggies, whole-grains, fruits, low-fat dairy, and heart-healthy oils.

The second option is to do a short-term "drastic diet" that is designed to last for 2 weeks max. This would take off the most weight rapidly. There are several on the site under "Diet Plans" but my favorite is the 5-4-3-2-1 diet.

You get to pick what you eat, but you're going to want to pick highly nutritious foods to keep your metabolism working efficiently. Make water your main source of hydration and save the sweet drinks (even diet) for special occasions. Eliminate as much salt and sugar from your diet as you can.

The biggest component to fast weight loss is going to be your workout. To make sure that you're burning fat, you need to be sweating and huffing and puffing. In addition, do some good stretches and some strength training. You don't have to go outside to get in your cardio workout. You can run in place, dance to good tunes, or use a fitness DVD. These can be purchased, rented at video stores or Netflix, or checked out of the public library. In addition, here are some good exercises that you can do at home, without special equipment.

Try eating 5 to 6 small meals a day to boost your metabolism. (Make sure it's not junk food). Drink plenty of water. Start a cardio program for at least 30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week. If you don't want to jog outside there are plenty of things you can do inside. (Skip rope, jumping jacks, jog in place and plenty of aerobic dvds). also light weight training is good for muscle tone and muscle burns away at fat. Try this before turning to any type of pills. if u dont wanna excercise then how bad do u really want this.? at least do something!! it will help dramatically..but the atkins diet always works even if u dont excercise...its the low carb diet no breads or sugars...meats cheeses stuff like that..anyways hope this helps..but if u start eating those carbs it will come right back so excercise this is only s temporary solution...Health Question & Answer

There are no pills that really work, I've had some luck with phentermine but you need a doctors script. You need to exercise though imho. I lost 78 pounds in 10 months using the "eat less, exercise more" plan. It works.
