Question: How many calories did i burn from being in a sauna for half an hour.?
In a normal sauna session, you can lose anywhere from 300 to 500 calories through sweat and increased heart rate alone. How long's a normal session and how many calories did i burn if i spent only 30 minutes in the sauna.? Thanks :)Health Question & Answer

You probably lost about 100-300 calories, depends on body structure, People with more muscle burn calories faster. (a normal session is 15 minutes, but that is a very very high estimate)
But
It does burn some calories but it does not have any of the other healthy benefits of exercise. It is certainly not a healthy way to strain the heart, which is the reason why someone may claim it is equivalent to exercise.

You should never, under any circumstances, sit in a sauna for over 15 minutes.

* You're cold and/or trying to warm up joints (arthritis, thyroid disorder)

You probably didn't really burn more. You might have even burned less than normal b/c you're body isn't working to stay warm.

Your basal metabolic rate would be your best predictor of how much you "burned". In other words, you didn't burn a significant amount more than normal. Any weight lost would be from sweat.

try hour and a half see if that doesn't work if not try something like weight lifting its a good way to get a tone and your working twice as hard and its fun here are stuff i do when i go to the gym i lost 15 pounds doing it and i haven't gained or lost any

bench
clean
incline

im sorry..i dont know but i wanted to say this is a pretty sweet way to lose calories. have you seen results in weight loss.? just so that i give an answer- i want to say id assume you wouldnt lose much since youre not physically moving...and a 30 minute workout on my elliptical only burnt about 200 calories. so idk.Health Question & Answer

a normal session is about 3 hours and u lost about 75 calories. plus it depends on the type of sauna u used
