Well I'm fifteen years old and I was wondering what is a safe number of calories to eat for 15 year old female who is still growing and developing and DOESN'T want to lose weight.?
And is this meal plan (below) a good plan to follow.? How many cals would that be approximately.?
Breakfast:
2 pieces wholegrain toast
10gm reduced fat PB
1 banana
1 glass orange juice
Mid Morning Snack:
1 piece fruit (generally an apple)
15 almonds and 3 dried apricot halves
Lunch:
Shaved chicken roll= deli shave chicken (1 slice), 5-10 gm light cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber on a roll
375ml 'Feel Good' iced coffee (99.7% fat free)
Afternoon Snack:
2 'premium' whole meal crackers and 1 small glass of juice or lemon iced tea
OR 1 small cappuccino with 1 sugar
Dinner: generally some meat or fish or something equivalent, with some carbs and some veg/salad for example:
small piece fillet steak with 2-4 cocktail potatoes (they are the really small ones) with butter and some salad or steamed veg
Dessert:
80 gm icecream + waffle cone (250 kj in the cone)

I'm concerned about your question, and also possibly confused. You are using the metric system so I'm wondering if you mis calculated your weight in pounds, 83lbs is equivalent to 37.7 Kilograms, if that clarifies anything.
Anyway, I myself am a recovered anorectic who happens to also be the same height as you, and when I was at that weight I was hospitalized for various medical problems. That weight is a BMI of about 15, where as a healthy BMI is 18.5 or higher. Ideally, for somebody your height the MINIMUM healthy weight would be over 98lbs (a BMI of about 17.8 not ideal but close enough).
Can you tell me what your current diet is like, and if you've recently lost weight.? I'm not being judgemental or anything, just concerned....
*THANKS FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION!!*
Okay, yeah well if that's the eating plan youre on now, that's really excellent!! I would say its probably ideal to gain about 1lb a week til you get within a few lbs of your goal weight or so...if you find youre not gaining weight you can add Ensure shakes or milks, stuff like that throughout your days to get extra calories in.
Congragulations on your recovery BTW *hugs*Health Question & Answer

83 lbs is way underweight. Add protein. You don't need to be having low fat stuff, you are of a low enough weight to eat normal type products. It concerns me you are weighing down to the gram and ml your food portions. PS no less than 1500 caloriesHealth Question & Answer
