Is this okay too eat (I'm trying to tone up)?!

Question: Is this okay too eat (I'm trying to tone up).?
Two small wholemeal buns (one is ham and lettuce, second is salami and lettuce. No butter).

That's my biggest meal, seriously. I'm eating my five portions, it's just since they arent big really (maybe a piece of fruit or some eggs) I need something to fill up on in the middle of the day.
I work off about 1000 calories a day... so are the buns fine.?Health Question & Answer

Try chicken, you can boil it to cook it with no worries of added fats, eat almonds, and drink skim milk - that is all protein and no fat, it will help you to gain muscle. Having a bit of lettuce is good as well, the key is to prepare without any added calories, and consume in the most efficient way. Not adding anything like butter, salt, etc., is going to put you at an advantage. You're training your body to use food for fuel, and not as a reward or indulgence. I hope that you keep your dedication and stay healthy. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

Hi Louise,

It's great that you are eating 5 small meals. That will definately work. Bread is usually not great - unless it's first thing in the morning. It's also not great to combine bread (wholemeal buns in your case) with proteins.

Wow you burn off 1000 calories a day! How long can you maintain this regimen.? My experience has shown that after a few weeks your body starts to rebel. By exercising too hard you initiate "survival protection".

I strongly recommend the Win-Win Diet Czar (www.eweightlosswin.com). It talks about how much to eat and when and also talks about exercising too much. It can be counterproductive in the long run. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
