Question: Football workout routines.?
hello, i am entering my junior year of high school and im intrested in playing for my schools football team,
i am familiar with all workouts and all challenges (wrestled freshman year)
i am 5'4 1/2 140 lbs, and i want to play running back/corner back/returner. i run a 4.9 forty but i wanna find a workout that will both increase my core strength and speed/agility. i am familiar with plyometrics... but i want to be able to truck too =] any personal workout routines.?.?.? tyvmHealth Question & Answer

5'4 and 140 lbs is a bit small, junior year high school i dont know how old that makes you as i live in Australia and we have a very different system to you. But i would suggest bulking up....get to the weight room and start taking protein 3-5 times a day. Get on creatine to increase your indurance as well. As for your core strength, Olympic Lifts, Deadlifts, Squats and Bench press are 4 excercises that will increase your core strength so much, look them up on the internet and how to do them properly. But i am aware that you might not have the access to weights or the gym. So for speed and agility its great that you can run a 4.9 does that mean miles.?that is great but that isnt going to make you run fast, you should focus on just sprinting and getting your sprint times up quicker, i forget what they are called but watch this video workout (only goes for 2 mins) and this is EXACTLY what you need to do pretty much to increase core strength(pull ups) and speed agility the running thing .?v=GnyPF8PuL40" rel="nofollow">http://au.youtube.com/watch.?v=GnyPF8PuL4...Health Question & Answer
