How can I make myself "like" exercising? I am forced to do stretching and strengthening exercises to?!


Question: How can I make myself "like" exercising.? I am forced to do stretching and strengthening exercises to.?
control the pain of arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, etc.
I refuse to take pain medication and exercising is the only alternative.
I realize that it is self discipline and I have to do it or suffer.

Freedom...the only way you can like it...is say you like it...keep feeding your mind with the positive...this is a process in thought regeneration....you step into a new thought process by doing just that! One baby step....

I know it's hard....I have so many things too dear...that I need to just step into! Good thoughts help us conquer the negative ones! God bless! Well some people enjoy exercising because they enjoy seeing how much they've achieved, for example if you ran 2 miles you'd be proud and feel you gained something.
also exercising with a partner or group of friends can really make the time fly.
You should try all different exercises, if say running isn't your thing try swimming. But in your case there's yoga.? many different types of Yoga as well, its not all standing still for ages!Health Question & Answer

I think it is just one of those things you have have to go over and get past

I am the same way, I hate working out (although I do not have arthitus, and etc). But when I am working out, I think about what it will do for me after I am done, and you have to admit you feel a lot better after. You have to take it day by day.

I have arthritis too and I know what you are saying. It hurts like a mug! I can't take anything for it because of my transplant. My doctor recommended water exercising it's not as hard on your joints. If you are old enough to go to a senior center, I'm sure you will have plenty of company. You know the old saying, "Misery loves company." LOL If we were closer, maybe we could encourage one another.

I don't know about the dentist thing ... it depends on what needs to be done. I've had dentists stop and ask me if I'm okay because the muscles around the breasts are quivering so badly it scared them. I can be perfectly fine and relaxed (I think) but these muscles go crazy.Health Question & Answer

just do a lttle bit at first. after you get started the feel good effect is a little addictive. and don't overdo it so you hurt yourself. start slow and be forgiving of yourself. little by little you'll be able to do everything you want and need to do. first thing is getting started, tho!
