3500 kcal = 1lb - i wanna loose 3.5lb soo................?!

Question: 3500 kcal = 1lb - i wanna loose 3.5lb soo.................?
So if 3500 kcal equals one pound in order to loose 3.5lb i would have to burn off 12250 kcals..

My question is... are those 12250 kcal extra...... ok im not making much sense...

say i consumed 1500 kcal a day - in a week thats 10500. Now, honestly, just so i can understand this (i know 3.5lbs in one week is unhealthy) but if i wanted to lose 3.5 in a week would i have to only burn off 12250 kcal or would i have to burn off 12250 + my calorie intake for the week.?.?

I know it sounds silly but my mind has gone blank and so i can't seem to get my head around this!

Answers:
You need to burn 12250 calories + what you eat. But, homeostaysis (staying alive) burns about 2000 calories, which is about what you eat.

So, you have to burn an extra 12250 to lose the pounds.

Does that make sense.?Health Question & Answer

Assuming that you needed 10,500 cal/week to maintain your weight, and you did not change the way you ate, then you would need to burn off your weekly intake + an additional 1,750 (assuming your original calculation are correct).

If you burned 12,250 + 10,500 (what you've eaten) then that means 22,750 cals have been burn which means about 6.5 lbs.Health Question & Answer
