Answers:
Start with 10 reps, with a low weight, 10 pounds for girls, 20 pounds for guys unless its still to heavy then do 5 poundsHealth Question & Answer

You want to split the body's muscles into groups. The basic groups are shoulders, biceps, triceps, back, chest, abs, legs. Then you split those up over 3 days.

I do abs with every workout, like 150 bicycle crunches or so. Or I'll do the captain's chair and weighted side bends to hit the obliques.

mon: abs chest triceps
wed: abs shoulders legs
fri: abs back biceps

For everything but abs I do 3 sets per muscle group, 6-10 reps per set. Make sure you use enough weight to give yourself muscle failure in less than 10 reps. If you don't go all the way to muscle failure you won't get muscle growth.Health Question & Answer

You don't have to be embarrassed. Everyone has to start somewhere and your way ahead of people who never ask because they're too afraid to be labeled as stupid. Good on you!

Now, weight training for women usually helps them shape their bodies. Guys would use it to build muscle, but girls would probably do it to add more definition to their frames. Since you're just starting off, I'd encourage you to work with a weight that isn't too heavy, but isn't totally light either.

also, keep doing your cardio, since that will keep you fit. I'd encourage you to add some body weight and Swiss ball exercises to your arsenal. However, the most important thing is to start eating more protein-rich foods: red meat, fish, nuts, eggs, etc. That is what will really add volume to your body.

I could go on forever here, but I'd strongly recommend you visit one of my links below. There is a body shaping program designed primarily for women. But for now, you're doing well!Health Question & Answer

Take it slow because your body won't be used to it. Try taking light weight and do a couple of sets of 12-15 for each body part you are working out. See how you feel the next day and if you are sore then it was probably a good weight to start at. If the soreness lasts more than 3 days then you over did it.Health Question & Answer

The reps depend on the weight you're able to train with. Start easy with the lowest weights "2.5lb" will do. Usually 15 reps is what people do. 10 if you are just starting. 10 reps 3 sets for you and then you increase the weight as you move onHealth Question & Answer
