What are some good strategies to practice self control when eating?!

Question: What are some good strategies to practice self control when eating.?
I try to watch what I eat but sometimes it seems like my mind just forgets and scarfs food before I even realize what's happened. Or sometimes I'll say I'll have one little bite to satisfy myself, but once I start I can't stop (a good example is chocolate - the taste, the texture - it's gone before I can even tell myself to stop). Is there a way to train my mind so I don't do this.? Anything I can say to myself that would snap me back on track.?Health Question & Answer

Enjoy it while you're eating it. Don't eat while watching tv or doing some other activity (like working), and don't eat while standing up!
Look at your piece of chocolate, then hold it in your mouth for a a minute and think of how good it tastes. then slowly chew (and slowly chew all food you eat). Then wait another minute or 5 until you have another piece.
Go by the three bite rule whenever eating something sweet (like cake). have three bites, not all fast, and savor it. This will fulfill your sweet tooth.Health Question & Answer

some good advice a friend of mine followed and succeeded with. Pick a healthy food you enjoy and eat more of it.. meaning.. eat that for additional meals rather then the junk food you would eat otherwise. He picked tuna sandwiches.. he would eat those for lunch instead of eating something such as pizza and chipsHealth Question & Answer

Its much easier if you can have self control with what you buy. Alot of people have that problem but you can avoid it by not buign those foods. or just eat next to a mirror haha..Health Question & Answer
