What are some healthy snack ideas?!

Question: What are some healthy snack ideas.?
I work graveyard and am always pressed for time resulting in going long periods without eating, causing me to over-eat when I do. I want to start grazing so I am trying to collect some good snack ideas that I can take to work with me to help me eat better. Any good healthy small meal ideas.?Health Question & Answer

something that i always love to bring with me when i know i'm going to be out of the house for a while is a whole grain english muffin with 2 tablespoons of all natural peanut butter (and occasionally some sugar free jam on top of that). The protein in the PB helps you feel surprisingly full and an english muffin is packed with whole grains and low in calories. Along the same lines is an english muffin with a slice of cheese and some lean deli meat like ham or turkey.

I also love dipping green apple slices into vanilla yogurt and eating them with walnuts. This is an easy on-the-go snack, and to make it even more convenient, you can cut up the apples before you leave the house and sprinkle a little bit of lemon juice on them to prevent them from browning - just store them in a zip loc baggie.

I also love hummus! buy a small 1/2 - 1 cup sized tupperware container (you can find them at any grocery store for about 2 dollars) and bring some hummus with you to work. You can bring along just about anything else to dip in it - carrots, celery, pita bread, pretzels, special K snack crackers (new, and absolutely delicious).

I also like to eat protein energy bars, but you really have to be careful when buying these and be sure to read the labels. some are so packed with sugar that they are not actually good for you at all, but some of them are pretty nutritious, you just have to find the right ones. I really like the South Beach Diet Peanut Butter Protein Meal Replacement Bars. They have 10g of protein and only 140 calories. And they aren't too bad!

Of course there is always the mix and match combo of healthy choices - low fat yogurts, fruits (apples, oranges, pears, bananas), hard boiled eggs (be sure to limit yourself on the amount of yolk you consume, but have as much of the whites, sprinkled with salt and pepper as you'd like)...Health Question & Answer
