I think my friend has an eating disorder! I need help!?!
Question: I think my friend has an eating disorder! I need help!.?
Okay so, my friend only eats dinner. Like one day she only ate dinner where she had chili and she said she only had one-hundred calories(counts calories in what she eats). So my friend katie and I are really worried about her. Katie talked to her(i was out of town)and katie would like not tell me anything. Then I finally got it out of her. Katie said our friend will be fine and i was like well why.? And she was like she went to her doctor on tuesday and her doctor said she was perfectly healthy, but i don't know if my friend is lying. What if she didn't even talk to her doctor cause she knows she has a problem. Katie said that my friend's doctor said what she eats is healthy because she is just not hungry. But I think 100-200 calories a day is awful eating. I think she really is in danger I mean she is soooo skinny! She also gets sick easily and is allergic to cold.Health Question & Answer

This is a serious problem. Let me tell you NO doctor would tell her that is a safe amount of calories. Your brain functions throughout one day burn 600 calories alone. Not to mention if she is walking around & being active she is burning so so many more. A healthy range to loose weight is 1200-1300 calories a day. After that you burn more than you eat. If you eat 1500 to loose weight you should burn 200-300 calories. It take calories just for your body to sit up and talk. I would strongly recommend that you speak with her parents when she is not present. It make be awkward and she may be upset, even for awhile. But I promise you later when she is healthy her and her family will thank you for saving her life. This could be the begining of a very big problem. Many girls have trouble even facing that there is a problem. Her parents may too, but she needs help! God Bless YouHealth Question & Answer
