How can I loose weight in 4 months?!

Question: How can I loose weight in 4 months.?
Hey! Well, I'm a 15 year old girl, I'm 1.68m tall(5'51") and I weight 60 kg(132 pounds)...I would like to loose about 15 pounds, or less. What do you suggest I should do.? I have never been on a diet before, so I don't quite know what to do. I've heard that drinking a lot of water, jogging and dancing for 20 minutes or so can help. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
First of all, you are 5 feet 6 inches or 5.51 feet tall. Secondly, you are not overweight! This site calculates your bmi: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ Yours is 21.3, well within the normal range. If you lost 15 pounds you would just barely be within the normal range.

I don't recommend a restricted calorie diet for you, because your weight is normal. However, exercising and eating healthy is good for anyone, and it may help you to lose a few pounds (or change a few pounds of fat into muscle).

The best thing to do is exercise at least four times a week by running, swimming, bicycling, dancing or walking. Exercise for at least half an hour each time. (An hour is better.) Your body will burn fat as energy.

also, make sure you're eating at least 3-4 pieces of fruit (or servings of vegetables) every day. Research shows that when you fill your stomach up with healthy fruits and vegetables, you don't feel hungry, so you don't eat as many potato chips, cookies and other high calorie foods.

In addition to the fruits and veggies, eat lean meats (such as fish and chicken breasts) and slow-digesting carbohydrates (such as brown rice and oatmeal).

Good luck!

P.S. The timing of your goal is very reasonable. Losing 1 pound per week, you could easily lose 15 pounds in 4 months. If you said you want to lose 15 pounds in 1 month, that would not be healthy, but 4 months is just about right.Health Question & Answer

Before you go on a diet, you should know that everyone has different body types, now I don't know your body type but just keep in mind that not everyone is meant to be skinny, but you should aim to be healthy.

Having said that, I think you should first change your diet - food. Try eating a lot more vegetables and fruits but in general keep it balanced and eat 3 times a day. For carbs, try eating whole wheat and whole grains, which are much healthier than whites and eggs are a great source of protein. Try to exclude fats - but not all fats just fried foods and fast foods. also, eliminate soft drinks and other unhealthy drinks - stick to water and juice, try to have some with ever meal. However, remember to never skip meals or starve yourself - it will have negative effects on your health and weight!!!!!

Other than changing your diet, start exercising. Just a little everyday is fine - it could be running, sports, dancing or yoga - whatever is most comfortable for you. 30 minutes a day should be fine.

And the drinking a lot of water think you mentioned is just a way of filling your stomach without getting the nutrients, which cannot be good and is only a tmporary thing.Health Question & Answer

There is no healthy way to lose 15 lbs in 4 months as a 15-year-old. You will likely starve your body and gain the weight back quickly and weigh more than you started.

Your body is likely still developing and your metabolism may be inconsistent. My recommendation to you is to keep sugary beverages (like soda--even diet soda is bad for you!) and fatty foods (fast foods especially) out of your diet. Don't eat out as frequently, and make a habit out of cooking for yourself. Eating leafy greens and foods high in fiber helps you burn calories--most of these foods take more energy to digest than you get out of them. also, stay hydrated. Drink a lot of water!

If you can fit it in your schedule, try eating 5 small meals instead of 3 large ones. Eating more frequently will balance your metabolism and will keep you from over-eating or feeling hungry as often.

Finally, stop eating when you stop feeling hungry. Don't eat until you're full, because by then you've eaten too much.

As for exercise, do whatever fits into your schedule. However, don't pay for anything! There is plenty of healthy activity that doesn't cost you a dime.Health Question & Answer

1. the most important thing that works very well for me is NOT eating or drinking anything but water or green tea after 7 in the evening, i myself lose about 3 pounds by doing it only for 2 days. it is a great method. my mom also tried it and lost about 30 pounds in 2 months,
2. the second most important is avoiding foods like cookies, muffins, crackers, (even things like special k,...) , and coca cola, soda, fruit juice that is done in the factories (not those at home),
3. the third always eat break fast but not things like cereals and muffin , instead you want to eat a peace of whole grain bread with some low fat cheese and some nuts,
4. fourth, drink a lot of water during the day,
5. fifth get enough night sleep.
6. try to walk about 10 mins every morning to make your metabolism start quickly and burn fat quickly.
7. eat enough fruits and vegetables each day.

but dont forget, the fist three can work like a miracle, as they did for me, my mom, and my cousin.
now they are in low normal weight, and i'm underweight just by this method.

and good luck.Health Question & Answer

You are still growing, and 60kg really is a healthy weight for your height. currently you have a bmi of about 21, and losing 15lbs will take you to 18.8, which is on the boundary of underweight. Most physicians would not recommend you losing weight. There is no need and would do you more harm than good. However, you can still make alterations to your diet and daily physical activity to improve your health. The key in any case is to exersize. To lose weight you need to use up more calories than you are taking in. For this to be healthy, you do not have to eat less, simply exersize more.Health Question & Answer

(i'm sorry but i'm not english, i hope you'll understand this mex :p )
Hi! You can try to eat less, deleting from your diet chocolates, cake and others fat food...
I hope you don't stop to eat at all, it's the most wrong thing to do!
Drink a lot of water can help you, of curse, but alone this is unless...
I think jogging is more useful than dancing, so 10 minutes of jogging after meals can help you!
I tried this few rules on me, and i've lost 4kg weight in 1 months (i'm 15 ^^)Health Question & Answer

The First answer is good but for a 18 year old girl. I am a nutritionist, and I get so many moms daughters coming in and asking me what can they do to lose weight. Now, most of this is genetics, if you have a family that is big in weight and tall, most likely that will happen to their kids. And so on and so forth. So I place them on a plan where they have to work hard and eat well. Usually for a 15 year old girl, your metabolism isn't as fast as a older girl. Try and get sleep *8 hours* and do 45 mins of cardio in the morning. it takes 15 mins before your body even realizes its doing a exercise. A lot of people waste their time. Eat all grains, and organic vegetables. Organic is a bit more expensive, but is more healthier for your body and will help in digestion and weight loss. your still young, so try and keep the exercise to about 4 days a week. Just cardio. Your body has to get used to what your doing, and will adjust to u.

Actually, you don't need to diet in fact if you want to lose weight, the sole diet which definitely showed results for me is wu-yi tea, it can be viewed in the resource box below, they have a few free trials in stock, it was featured in Reader's Digest and CNN. I shed 20 pounds, it definitely does work!Health Question & Answer

If you have a treadmill run on that for like 2-4 hours in one day or go for a jog once or twice a day that might help. if that doesn't help than you could try to sit-ups or push-ups or something. but be careful on what you see on t.v. you can pull a mussel and it could hurt for days trust me. good luck!Health Question & Answer
