Whats the go with healthy food?!

Question: Whats the go with healthy food.?
I eat healthy foods so I know they're good for you and all, but I don't understand why people say if you don't eat like that then you will be sick and unhealthy.

My brother doesn't do any exercise, and eats whatever he wants. He also doesn't get sick often, has fine skin and doesn't look like he's about to drop dead. My cousin won't eat any vegetables at all, and eats junky snacks a lot. She has lots of energy and looks healthy (she is younger though)

I believe that theres got to be people who live like this their whole life and live to be very old.

What do you think.?

and I know they are not the best on the inside, but it sure doesn't show on the outside.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
no, most of them won't be able to live all their lives like this. It
will caught on them sooner or later. I know, I supervised a group of
people with high blood pressure, and saw how they cried in pain,
kidneys killed them, they had clogs in their legs and could not walk,
and so on. It was an awful sight, how they shrieked and had to take
more and more pills to help them. Some of them were not even overweight. There is a Spanish
proverb, it says: "Take what you want, but pay for it, says God." So,
you can stuff yourself with the greasiest foods possible, and
alcohol, but pay for this later in life (sometimes as early as your
30-ies).
Of course, there are exceptions. Some people have excellent genes,
and they can do whatever, drink, overeat, and still live long. They
inherited these genes from their parents and grandparents, who
looked after themselves, ate in moderation and so on. What these
people did, they ruined their genetic pool. Their children will be
weaker, and will have more diseases, and weaker constitutions, and
won't be as resistant to junk food and alcohol as their parents. It
may go like this for generations: grandfather indulged, and lived
good, son indulged and lived good, grandchild indulged and lived
good, then grand-grandchild can't do it.
When you are looking after yourself, you are not only making sure
that your life will be disease free, you insure it for your future
generations. Then, remember, too, that it's easy to destroy a good
gene pool, and very difficult to built it back again, it will need
more time and more generations to do so.Health Question & Answer

I presumed your brother and cousin are still young. Certain lifestyle choices only show their effects years or decades later -- when one's bodily function level drops.

It pays to eat healthily. I used to heard people say "garbage in, garbage out" to describe bad food choices lead to bad health. However, I suspect some of the garbage (preservative, coloring, plastic, etc) we ate actually will stay in our system for days or years... not to mention the potential accumulation after years of consumption.Health Question & Answer
