Question: Help please.. dieting issue.?
Im overweight for my height and I dont always have time to exercise or workout, plus I dont eat that much healthy great food since im busy most of the time...
im going to try to commit to a diet and working out.
do you have any advice for me.?
how many times a day to eat.?
how long i should excercise.?
btw im 5 ft 1 and weigh 140....

First you should try to work on changing your eating habits. That is a key component!:) As you begin to workout don't try to go to hard, start off slow and gradually increase you time. i would recommend eating very small portions about 5 times a day. the more you are eating and the lesser amount will speed up your metabolism.
you should try to exercise for 30-45 minutes a day 4-7 days a week. the longer you exercise at once the more fat you are burning. so even if you go just 3 or 4 days in one week but every day you did at least 45 minutes you will have burned a lot of fat. try to do cardio mostly. there are other types of cardio besides just running too (although it is the best way) but there is swimming, dancing, kickboxing, elliptical machines, and biking.
this is what i have been doing because im trying to lose a little weight too and so far i have lost about 5 pounds in 2 weeks. it works but you have to keep up with it. it will be hard at first because you will be sore and won't want to go back to the gym, but try to overcome the soreness and do it anyway because it will pay off. hope this helps!Health Question & Answer

Hi, I am also a very busy person and always on the move. You have to help yourself by not making the McDonalds stop everyday. Eat gopod food. For example Panera Bread offers delicious soups and sandwhiches that will most definately fill you up. A regular meal there costs about $8 only about 2 or 3 dollars more than MsDonalds.

First you need to buy a small food calorie book you can carry around with you. Soon you will be able to know or estimate calories in the foods without having to look at the book. Start writing down how many calories and carbs you eat in a regular day so you know how much you have to cut back to lose weight. 3,500 calories is one pound so if you can shave that many or more in one week you should see some steady weight loss. Here is the following suggestions that I learned from Clinical Nutrition :

1) Eat three meals a day . If you skip meals , you will in the end eat more or gain even more weight metabolism issues .
2) Do not eat fried foods , soft drinks any kind including diet , and no candy .
3) Eat balanced meals that consist of baked or grilled meats , vegetables and salad. ( not too fun but does work) makes you feel good.
4) Cardio exercises walk or run for at least 30 minutes a day.

That is allot to do but woth it in the end . You will lose weight and that weight will stay off and not come back like quickie diets do.

Supposedly the new trend is to eat 5 small meals a day rather than breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try that.

also, eating healthy alone won't help. You need to excercise somehow. Go walking aroud the block for 10-15 minutes. May sound stupid, but possibly even sex.? Anything that will get your heart pumping.

It takes a lot longer to burn off calories so walking up
some stairs will not do the trick.

at least two 45 mins sessions of high intensity work out every day. 5 small meals a day. must be healthy of course. stay active. dont watch tv or go on computer or laze around for two long. what ever you do just make sure its productive.
