Weight watchers question for nursing mothers?!

Question: Weight watchers question for nursing mothers.?
I have been reading that 40 pts is the max per day. I am nurisng my baby and I am going to start doing weight watchers and I added my points together and they came to 47 pts per day (I am a young, larger woman)

My question is is this 40pts a day rule right.? before I start I need to know this because it could hinder my weight loss/milk production.

Congratulations on the new member of your family! =)

I am also a Weight Watchers member and I just looked up this information for you.

Here is what it says in the side note:

*If your total is more than 44, your daily points target is 44

Since the max amount of points is 44, you will only be losing 3 points from the amount you calculated. However, you still have the additional allowance 35 points per week to use as you wish.

As a side note, I can tell you that 44 points will be more than enough and you will even get tough at times to eat them all. I started at 34 points and I had that problem, I even felt like I was eating too much to actually lose weight, but I have been loosing steady for 2 months now.

Weight Watchers is really a good, sensible plan that works and I wish you the very best of luck with it!Health Question & Answer

Women who breastfeed can burn around 20 calories per ounce of milk produced. I think the best thing to do would be speak to a weight watcher rep or try to find someone who nursed while on weight watchers. It may be high also because you are in danger of becoming dehydrated while nursing if you are not taking in the amount of fluid you need.Health Question & Answer
