Why is my right arm 5X stronger then my left?!

Question: Why is my right arm 5X stronger then my left.?
I started to work out again last night after about 2 years. I was working on chest (bench press, incline bench, etc) My right upper arm/shoulder is super sore, but my left is not really...And when I'm working out I feel like Im working my right arm wya more than myleft, eventhough Im pushing on my left more...Is this normal.? What else can i do.?Health Question & Answer

are you righty or lefty.? It is common when you first start to work out to see that problem. (your dominant arm is stronger then other one, because you do more work throughout the day with that particular side of your body.). As you start to lift more and more it will even out. also, things that you can do to help that is...switch to other arm throughout the day. Like, put more weight on when carrying groceries from your car to your home or when you are lifting something lift it with the other arm. But i would say not to worry about it too much because if you have a good workout plan it will even out. =)

(btw, i never seen a female on incline bench press grats =).)Health Question & Answer

Are you right or left handed.? If you favor your right arm, you may be working it harder. When you do weight bearing exercises that require you to use both the left and right side at the same time, frequently we use our favored side more to compensate for the weaker muscles on our weaker side. This is why a lot of people who are seriously training will use dumbells instead.

Try doing bicep curls (or something similar) with a machine then use dumbells of the equivalent weight. Do you notice how much more difficult it is on your weaker arm when using the dumbells.? If you want a more balanced workout, I recommend using handweights, etc. where you can focus on one arm at a time.Health Question & Answer

well, is is quite normal for everyone, my right is much stronger than my left, because im right handed, it probably is normal if you are right handed.

You dont really realize you use your right more than your left (lol again - if you are right handed xD) Hope that sums it up a little bit, oh, if you want to gain more strength in your left, try using weights, or dumbells more often on your left then your right, like 100 lifts on your left and maybe 50 on your left, try learning to write with your left hand.

good luck! :)Health Question & Answer

Muscle imbalance and poor form are likely. Just use the same weight for the same amount of reps on both arms until they even out, but you need to get your form right, watch some vids and look at stronglifts.comHealth Question & Answer

I'm guessing that your right arm is your dominant arm. It's normal, just start using dumbbells and do more reps with your left arm.Health Question & Answer

Start beating it with your other arm.Health Question & Answer

yes its normal no need to worryHealth Question & Answer
