What is the right food to eat?!


Question: What is the right food to eat.?
im not dieting as such i want to lose weight im trying to do it the healthy way by exercising and eating right ... but i have no clue what the right food is ... fruit, water & vegetables i know but what about when your out and need a meal you know.?.? please tell what food is good and why

Here are some successful hints:

1. Drink a lot of water. Take your weight, divide it by 2 and drink that much in oz daily. So, for example, if you weigh 150 lbs, you should drink 75 oz of water a day (150/2 = 75)

2. Do not eat processed sugar! No cakes, cookies, etc. Stick with fruit, but not too much! Citrus fruits are really good as well as melons.

3. Do not eat anything that has been fried. This includes chips!

4. Try to eat as many natural foods as possible. When at the grocery store, stick with the perimeter of the store (first and last aisles and back wall). These aisles usually have your fresh produce, meats, dairy, etc.

5. Limit portion size. 2 oz of meat (about the size of a deck of cards), a small amount of carbohydrates (no more than 185 g a day), and lots of vegetables. Make sure you have protein for breakfast this really helps keep you from snacking between breakfast and lunch.

6. Do no drink soda of any sort! Stick with water and tea.

7. Eat 3 meals a day (at approximately the same time) and 2 snacks one of fruit and one of dairy (fat free yogurt is the best). NEVER skip a meal. This will send your body into starvation mode and you will stop burning calories.

8. Take a good multivitamin daily. You can tell that your vitamin is good if you break it in half and can see layers.

9. Start out walking 30 mins. a day at a brisk pace. Once you've become accustomed to that, switch between walking and running (walk 2 mins. run 1 min. etc.).

10. Do some light weight training. Lean muscle helps to burn more fat.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be successful!

your right about fruit and vegetables but make sure you include these with some good protein and carbohydrates (brown rice, pasta,bread) are what i recommend.
if you know your going out for the day i would suggest taking some pieces of fruit with you in your bag, and a bottle of water.

When you eat out you should enjoy what you ordered. Do what I do and order whatever you want but ask for half of it in a doggie bag or split it with a friend. That way even a 1,000 calorie meal is OK since you're only eating 500 and you still get to have french fries and stuff. ;-)Health Question & Answer
