Question: How long after childbirth can i start to exercise to get back a flat tummy.?
i want to look good for my husband, apparently he looks at other women, i am beautiful, its just i need to get back pre-pregnancy.
my baby is 4 months old, and i really want to start working on flattening my tummy, and exercise and stuff.

if you have to look good for him to stop looking at other women, that's pretty sad. he shouldn't be looking at other women. what a pathetic sack of **** to get you pregnant then take interest in others because of what your body went through. if you want to lose the pregnancy weight for YOURSELF, then go for it. but don't do it because your husband is a pig.Health Question & Answer

The doctor will tell you at least six weeks of recovery. However, I started a week after just by walking and light weight. I didn't want to tear my stitches so I did it lightly and left out ab work until I was ready.

I did something totally drastic, to get back into shape in 3 months. I trained for a marathon that came up six mos after I had the baby and then I trained for the another marathon 1 year after I had the baby. Now, I actively participate in triathlons and it is great for reshaping. You can try swimming rotations too, those seem to help w/ my midsection quicker than other work outs. You can start exercising again as soon as you feel up to it. If your baby is four months old you should feel pretty good right now still a little sleep deprived though.Health Question & Answer
