Stomach muscle pokes out in the middle when I do sit ups- why?!

Question: Stomach muscle pokes out in the middle when I do sit ups- why.?
When I was pregnant (4 month along) I noticed when I leaned back that my sides of my stomach moved inward a bit. My middle of my stomach however, poked out from my breast bone to my lower abs. I found out that this was sometimes normal with pregnant women as the muscle was being pushed out due to being pregnant.

But to get to the point, I had the baby almost a year ago, and I have noticed that my stomach muscles are doing the same thing. I know 100% sure that I am NOT pregnant, so what could this be.?!

Does anyone know why the muscles would do this, is it these set of muscles that are strong, while the other ab muscles of mine are weak.?! when I do sit ups this vertical muscle.? really shows. I have a pretty flat stomach, but I have noticed that my muscles are not as hard when I flex since before pregnancy.

Thx.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Well, just because the baby was born a year ago doesn't mean that the stretching would be gone.

The muscle could have been worked out a lot by the pregnancy, and it's not surprising it's still noticeable. It takes twice as long to lose muscle as it does to gain it.

You should be fine, there's no real problems to it.Health Question & Answer
