What could I do for my knee ligament to heel faster?!

Question: What could I do for my knee ligament to heel faster.?
Answers:
Is it strained or torn.? Cold packs, OTC pain relievers help somewhat. If you haven't already, get into the doctor and plan on getting an MRI of it. also contact a physical therapist about exercises and weight training for that leg. The goal being to strengthen the muscles around your knee joint. Sorry I'm not able to tell you much more, but without a better history and to this date treatment of your knee. I don't know at this point to tell youHealth Question & Answer

Can be real problem. I tore a legament. Need surgery. Found the right surgeon. Had the surgery performed. Went through the therapy after surgery. All successful. 2 years later, terrible care accident. Knee totally distroyed. Need total knee replacement. Original surgeon gone. Got another surgeon and another hospital. (At this same time, my aunt who was 78 years old at the time, also had total knee replacement on BOTH knees). That all took place 10 years ago. During this past ten years, my total knee replacement had to be re-done twice. Surgery, therapy, the whole nine yards. And my aunt, 3 months after her two knee replacements she was all over the casino's in Atlantic City, having the time of her life, without a bit of pain. Me.? Pain all the time. Can't walk 2 blocks without resting. Moral of this story. All bones, joints, and related surgeries are always dependant on one thing for success: THE RIGHT DOCTOR. so, be very careful about your ligament injury. And don't be so fast in electing surgery. Good Luck.Health Question & Answer

North510 Has the right info. for you except I'd add one bit more. The OTC pain reliever should double as an anti-inflammatory. Make it aspirin or an advil clone. These will help along with the ice to settle down the inflammation.Health Question & Answer
